We are Bright Lanterns Therapeutic and Residential Services. We are a team of organised, reliable and highly committed professionals who are working together to pursue and further our goals when progressing outcomes for the children and young people that we work with.

We have foster carers as part of our staffing structure, who have lived the experience of caring for children and having looked after children live within ones home. 

​

Our experience combines statutory child protection social work, residential care, outreach education, music, cooking, and various other enrichments.

​

We have access to a unique setting close to our home which includes a huge football pitch, events areas and a host of local businesses within the centre. There is a fully operational alternative schooling provision that can be accessed by the children we endeavour to care for.

Caring for children is our passion. We are a mixed race, multi faith organisation who have Love, Respect and genuine desire to be effective and progressive role models for the children that we take responsibility for.

Our Home - Our home is a two bedroomed home, in the OL1 area of Oldham. It has two lovely, spacious bedrooms each with an en-suite toilet and shower,  providing privacy, autonomy and respect to all our residents. We have a dedicated therapy room where our residents can read, play, learn music and learn arts, poetry and song writing should they wish to do so.

Our home has a staff room with an office within it and next to this is the communal lounge. We have a lovely kitchen where the children will be supervised to get involved in cooking, baking and meal preparation.

Our Team - We have a high standard of expectation from ourselves as the leadership team and are being very selective with the staff that we recruit. We are currently at the planning stage and therefore will have further details in regards to our staff further on.

Our Director, our Responsible Individual, Registered Manager and Operational staff team are all experienced professionals working with children and young people in various settings. We have access to qualified social workers, qualified teaching staff, a pastoral lead and safeguarding advisors. We have staff who are trained in psychology, nursing, business and social sciences.

 

We have qualified teachers and sporting coaches available to support the children who we work with.

We have a very experienced Responsible Individual and a dedicated and knowledgeable Registered Manager, three senior staff for oversight, four residential care workers and two night staff.

 

We will be employing therapeutic services and have a Social Worker who is experienced in trauma and PACE, completing regular visits, staff training and support and guidance for therapy and recovery where required.
